Plan the session. Log the glide.

You have an open skate tonight and an hour on the ice, or a free afternoon at the roller rink. Open Skates turns the skills you are working on into a timed practice plan you can carry in your pocket, then keeps a private Skate Card of how each skill is going.

One loop, every session

Choose, skate, log. The card remembers, so the next plan starts where you left off.

  1. The night before

    A ladder of 20 skills

From falling safely and the ready position to crossovers, T-stops and backward crossovers, in four levels. Each skill has three practice cues, one drill and a plain check of when you have it.

  2. At the rink

A plan that fits your time

Pick 20, 30, 45, 60 or 90 minutes and up to four skills. The plan splits the time into warm-up, one block per skill, a review and a cool-down, and prints as a pocket card.

  3. After the session

    Your Skate Card

After the session, log the minutes and rate each skill shaky, getting it or solid. Rate a skill solid in two sessions and it is marked solid; the card then suggests what to work on next.

Four levels, one rung at a time

Work from the first level up: each one leans on the one before.
